October 17, 2016—Soo Film Festival, Inc., in association with Soo Theatre Project, Inc., is bringing movies downtown on Fridays and Saturdays from October 21 to November 19. We’ve already been using the big screen and sound equipment donated last year by Carmike Cinemas. This year we’re installing side speakers for an improved movie-going experience.

Here’s the schedule of this fall’s movies at the Soo Theatre:

October 21-22
Soo Restaurant Week
The Breakfast Club and Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory
October 28
Downtown Trick or Treat
Zoombies at the Haunted Soo Theatre, with the Zombie Walk for Autism, a Downtown Trick or Treat event
October 29
NEA Big Read Event
The Raven (1935) and Tales of Terror, sponsored in part by the Superior District Library as part of the NEA Big Read Event
November 4-5 The Martian and WALL-E
November 11-12 Captain America: Civil War and The Jungle Book (2016)
November 18-19 Mary Poppins and Thelma and Louise
